Could anxiety be the cause of violence in teenagers?

If adults, teenagers and children do not deal with the high levels of anxiety in their body and nervous system in a healthy fashion, violence can be the result.

Some people act out their judgmental attacks on others and some people act in their judgmental attacks on themselves. Some people do both.

Let us look at a teenager in Omaha, Nebraska. Suppose he could not take the negative thoughts about himself any longer. Suppose he was looking for a way to stop the attacking thoughts. Suppose he become violent first against others and then against himself. Violence can take many forms such as suicide or killing others.

Anxiety is the source problem for many symptoms. Anxiety is caused by self rejecting, judgmental thoughts toward the self.

As our society becomes more anxious, we can expect to see more violence unless something is done to reduce anxiety. Drugs do not reduce anxiety, they mask the problem. The only way to reduce anxiety is to deal directly with the out of control energy before it does harm to self or others.

Anxiety Help, Natural Treatment

Anxiety is like static on your radio band. Anxiety is learned and can be unlearned. Tune your radio to some good music or a good talk show instead of static. Or better yet turn off the radio for some peace and quiet.

I developed my original anxiety treatment with the women who did not respond to Cognitive Behavior Therapy. In the 1980's, my referrals came from Beck's Cognitive Behavior Therapy Institute. I live across the river from Penn and my best friend was the Director of the Counseling Center who knew about my work with anxiety, learning research and feminist therapy.

The last study I read in 2007 reported a 80% recidivism rate with CBT. The reason Cognitive Behavior Theory is limited is because no one enjoys having to think all the time. When you think, you are in Beta brain waves. Beta brain waves are limited. Give me some alpha, delta and theta please.

You do not want to have to think about what you are thinking. You might not even want to think at all!

Turn off your radio and have some fun and pleasure. Set your thoughts free......Get into your body and enjoy letting go of thoughts....umm, umm good.

There are safe, effective ways to reduce anxiety and keep the static low enough so you can enjoy life and achieve peak performance at work and play. The anxiety outside of you is not going away. The anxiety inside of you can be reduced.

Your power lies in your ability to move beyond your brain and your thoughts. Just because everyone else is anxious, doesn’t mean you have to be!

Anxiety and Fear Since the Shootings

If you are not safe sitting in a class room, where are you safe?

We think we are safe if we do the right things, be good and be careful. But we are not really safe anywhere no matter how “right,” “good” or “careful” we may be.

Out of control events and behaviors can occur anywhere at any time. 9-11 turned America's world upside down. School shootings and everyday violence can happen anywhere. If we are not safe sitting in a class room, where are we safe?

The answer is, "Nowhere." Safety is an illusion. This is the reason humans have so much anxiety. This is the reason children get so scared and so anxious.

The real world is scary.

If you do not experience anxiety and fear, you are not in touch with what is going on around you. Or inside of you.

There is a huge difference between unhealthy anxiety and healthy fear. In order to take care of yourself, you need to know the difference so you can response properly in the moment to what is really happening around you. To learn more read about Anxiety and Fear in the free library at drjeanette.com

If you are auditory, check out the free internet radio show on Overcoming Anxiety Naturally at "Live at the Edge."

Get ready for the real world. Be prepared with inner security. Emotional health gives you an inner sense of safety. With emotional wellness, whatever is happening outside of you cannot turn your world upside down.

Valentine's Day Gift - Reduce Anxiety for Sexual Health

Overcoming Anxiety Naturally In Time for Valentine's Day

by Doris Jeanette, Psy.D.

It is Valentine's Day and you feel relaxed and loving. As you move closer to your partner and touch her with love and desire, she stiffens up and moves away from you.

Quickly she gets involved in some activity. It could be attending to the new baby or cleaning up the dishes or looking out the window. Or perhaps he starts talking about something else, anything to distract. You say to yourself, “OK, it's not a good time” and accept it like a mature adult.

What if he or she continues to move away from you over and over again? Time to face the truth, your partner is rarely loving and relaxed. A new father, recently wrote me about his wife’s lack of interest in intimacy and sex. Unfortunately he is not alone. Many women and men suffer in silence with a partner who avoids sexual intimacy.

So what is going on ? The reason there is such a scarcity of good lovers in this world is due to a real problem, with a real solution.

If your partner avoids loving, sexual encounters, I would bet my 30 years of clinical experience in sexual health, he is too anxious to slow down and be with you. Anxiety is the major, bottom line, real problem. Anxiety is the major block to good sexual health.

There are 9.1 million Americans, 18 to 54, who suffer from anxiety disorders. This makes anxiety the most common mental health problem in the USA. Here is a link which tells you how many people are diagnosed with anxiety disorders in your country.

These numbers do not include the millions who have not been labeled with an official diagnosis. The millions who have trouble sitting down and relaxing under a cherry tree all afternoon long in the sun. The millions who cannot rest their body and mind so they can enjoy the moment, the day, the light and sexual health activities.

Here are 8 Signs of Anxiety

1--Breathing stops up high in your chest

2-Thoughts are obsessive, racing or telling you all the things you should do

3 -Physical body is too tight and tense or too fat and loose

4-Unable to sit still and be in the moment without activities such as reading, watching TV, talking

5-Not aware of your physical body

6- Not aware of the area around your body

7- Hyperventilating - gasping for air though your mouth

8- Startle response to any situation in your environment

When you let your anxiety take over and ruin your day, you are feeding fuel to all your other problems. Your anxiety is sure to get worse with each passing day, resulting in serious mental health, emotional health and physical health problems. Anxiety totally destroys sexual health. Nervous energy not only diminishes the quality of your life, but it causes many major physical diseases which cannot be easily corrected.

Legal or illegal anti- anxiety drugs are dangerous and psychotherapy is extremely limited in its ability to relax the body and nervous system. You need effective, safe anxiety help which teaches you to relax and get turned on. There are real solutions available for overcoming anxiety naturally. Valentine's Day and your sexual health are at stake!
